Federal funding needed for Metro Vancouver sewage upgrades
As Metro Vancouver looks to make its final decision on when to upgrade the Iona and Lions Gate wastewater plants to advanced treatment (from primary), it's absolutely necessary that the federal government commit to paying a share of the cost to end this source of pollution of the Strait. Without these funds, the region may chose to delay upgrading the Iona plant until 2030.
With new national regulations on wastement management about to be released, let the federal government know that you think they must financially support upgrading both these plants by 2020 by signing our petition now.
